About us

Since its creation in 1924, the Society has built a solid reputation as a well-respected organisation which champions the special heritage of the city of Newcastle upon Tyne and the County of Northumberland (which now incorporates North Tyneside).

Join the Northumberland and Newcastle Society; we have over 500 members, from all walks of life and from all over the UK, but who share a common passion for the buildings, culture and landscape of our stunning area.

We are a registered charity, non-political and not for profit.

We prefer that members pay by Direct Debit because this helps to reduce our administration costs (we are a charity), but if you’d prefer to pay by any of these other methods, we understand.
