The Northumberland and Newcastle Society

We work to preserve the heritage, culture and landscape of our city and county so that generations to come can appreciate their beauty and find new uses for them.

If you care about this wonderful place we call home, why not lend us your support?

About Us

For a century we have worked to ensure that the heritage of both city and county is first and foremost in the development of new building plans and proposals.

We liaise with councils, heritage groups and developers to not only preserve the best of our built environment, but to look at ways of making existing buildings sustainable for future use.

We also celebrate our culture and heritage through a packed programme of events, giving members exclusive behind the scenes tours of familiar and less familiar buildings and organisations.
