Died peacefully after a short illness on the 19 January, aged 83 years.
Much loved and loving husband of Frances.
Richard was a long standing member of the N&N Society. He was a key member of the N&N’s County Committee, and most recently, its Planning and Development (P&D) team.
John Matthews, N&N Chairman said;
I am so sorry to hear the sad news of Richard’s passing.
He was an incredibly astute gentleman and a great credit to the Society.
Looking at the many tributes on-line from friends and former colleagues, he continued to be a source of advice and support well after his retirement.
His determination to attend the in-person P&D meetings in Newcastle, travelling down from Alnwick on the bus, despite his health issues demonstrated the
passion he had for the N & N. His perceptive contributions to our meetings will be sorely missed.
