About Us
What we care about
The urban environment: We are active on the Newcastle Conservation Advisory Panel and work with local civic socities on issues such as the recent supermarket proposals for Morpeth.
The countryside and rural life: We campaign for sustainable management and recreational access in the countryside.
Major developments in the countryside: We monitor all proposals for the construction of windfarms and open-cast mineral extraction in Northumberland. We opposed the original application to extend open-cast mining at Whittonstall
Design quality: We promote the highest quality design in public and private buildings alike, ensuring sensitive siting, choice of materials and fitness for purpose. We press for conservation of good buildings from the past and their appropriate use in the future.
